Editorial Studio Headshots for Local Photographer by Kelsey Shea Photo
We love when photographers collaborate together to create art for each other. It’s quite common at our photography studio that local photographers will take turns behind the camera to get beautiful images of each other to use for their branding, social media, & website. Kelsey from Kelsey Shea Photo captured some fresh headshots of another local photographer, Robyn, against our white seamless backdrop.
We asked Kelsey to tell us more about how she delivered such natural feeling photos in a studio setting:
These headshots are so professional & chic, while still conveying so much personality. How do you accomplish such natural, effortless-looking posing while in a confined studio setting?
Kelsey: “I truly find that the most important part of my job is putting clients at ease. The heart of my work is really about a love for people, and there's almost a psychological element to photographing human beings. Everyone feels anxiety when a camera is pointed at them! I think that comes from the very human fear of vulnerability, and my job is to help ease that fear so we can let creativity flow. I do that by giving a lot of direction, but also by slowing down and really connecting with my clients. Curiosity is a core value of mine, so I try to emphasize how we're going to try things that might feel silly and if they don't work, it's not a big deal! ”
We love her perspective on putting clients at ease! Take a look for yourself to see how Robyn’s headshots turned out.
